It is from this observation that the team of the menu-vegetarien.com website started to organise the 1st Plant Food Trophies. The aim? To reward the best plant-based products and the personalities who have made the greatest impression and advanced plant-based nutrition.
Trophies to reward those involved in plant-based food
This event is intended to showcase the variety of plant-based foods and the wealth of know-how of its producers and industrialists committed to the excellence and development of this sector.
Beyond the products, these are also personalities who will be rewarded for having marked minds and advanced plant-based nutrition.
This is the opportunity for product creators in search of excellence to be highlighted and to provide motivation for their teams.
It is also the opportunity for those involved in the industry to be rewarded for their work on plant-based food and their positive discourse with the general public.
The plant-based product of the year
The 2021 Plant Product Trophies concern all 100% plant-based products released between January 1, 2019, and June 7, 2021.
The participants in the competition are first and foremost the representatives of the brands: manufacturers, marketing directors, product managers, sales managers, etc.
They are also the representatives of the physical or digital brands in which these products are distributed: store managers, category managers, purchasing managers, e-commerce managers, etc.
Since June 7, candidates can download their application forms to compete in the 9 categories offered :
- Aperitif, snacking
- Drinks
- Creamery
- Dietetic
- Sweet groceries
- Breakfast
- Ready meals
- Sauce, condiments, seaweed
- “Meat” and marine plant-based flavours
They have until September 24 to fill their application form and return it to the organiser.
All these files will be examined by a multi-skilled jury made up of experts, influencers, etc., at the beginning of October 2021. Three winners per category will be determined (Gold, Silver, Bronze). The members of the jury will be unveiled on the Trophies website as well as on the event’s social and professional networks.
In addition, the general public will be invited to vote, on the basis of a selection made by the jury, for the Plant product of the Year. The votes will take place from October 6 to 11 on the Trophy website.
The 2021 Plant Food Personality
But that’s not all, the Trophies team has also planned to reward personalities who have made an impact and pushed forward plant-based diet.
Because it is the people who make causes move forward, because they are the ones who make things change, the Plant Food Trophies will reward a personality for her or his commitment, achievements or overall actions in favour of plant-based food.
The 9 personalities chosen for this first promotion are:
- Claire BRACHET, Consultant, entrepreneur and author of the Brachet guide, vegan and plant-based wines
- Karine CASTRO, Founder of the Institute de la Gastronomie Végétale and of the media Graines de Papilles
- Florence DUSSEAUX, Founder of Vegg2food and co-manager of Vegan France Interpro
- Cyril ERNST, Co-founder of Assiettes Végétales
- Régis FEREY, Former pastry Chef of the Elysée Palace and pastry Chef trainer of the Ferrandi Paris School
- Marion LAGARDETTE, La petite Okara, Youtuber, content creator
- Rodolphe LANDEMAINE, Director of Maison Landemaine , Land & Monkeys and Yumgo
- Jean-Benoît ROBERT, Commercial Director of Poptails by Lapp and Co-founder of the SMMMILE festival
- Stéphanie TRESCH-MEDICI, La Fée Stéphanie, plant-based culinary designer, author and food blogger
Selected by the organizers, these personalities, from different worlds, will have their portrait presented on the Trophies website and submitted to the public vote to elect the 2021 Plant Food Personality. Votes start on June 7 and end on September 27, 2021.
The Plant Food Trophies ceremony
The trophies ceremony will take place on October 14, 2021, either face-to-face or remotely. The final format will be determined according to the sanitary conditions at the time of the event.
The podium and the 2021 Plant Food Personality will be unveiled during the awards ceremony which will take place on Thursday, October 14, 2021. The conditions will be specified later by the organising team.
